Of course I’m joking when I say that, but his absence from the Google Greensboro campaign is wide felt. No matter if he feels out of touch with technology, or simply prefers Bing, his leadership has been requested on multiple occasions and that call has gone unanswered.
I believe I saw on Ed Cone’s site that the Mayor had released a statement that he fully anticipated council passing a resolution or something of that nature at their next meeting, which will take place on March 16, 10 days before the Google response is due.
Is that enough from Greensboro’s Mayor? Do you feel this has shown weakness in his ability as a leader? Is it ok that he hasn’t been out in front of this initiative?
Update: I received news that the Mayor has taken part in a robo call campaign for the upcoming elections. The candidate’s name he was backing was not disclosed.

So much for your non opinionated blog.
Tony, I actually think I’ve done a decent job leaving opinion out of this site for 2+ years at this point. And about opinion… I don’t really see much in this post.
- Has the Mayor’s leadership not been requested and unanswered?
- Info from Ed’s site is factual.
- Questions in the 3rd paragraph are exactly that, questions.
- The update is fact.
