If you’re headed to the ACC Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum this weekend don’t be surprised if you see a group of colorful characters walking the halls. They aren’t aliens, but I guess they are the official Google Greensboro mascots.

Keith, I believe the goal of this weekends effort is to gain attention and to get citizens to nominate Greensboro. In terms of getting your attention, wouldn’t that happen if you saw one of these characters walking around?

please explain what a fan from miami or maryland or virginia or georgia tech wants to see some red blob walking through the concourse. This is not your target market for this endeavor. As i have said at ed cone’s blog the fans of the acc tournament don’t give a rats ass about google for greensboro. Who are you trying to gain attention for miami or atlanta or college park . It makes no sense to do this endeavor at the acc tournament and it makes no sense to have some ridiculous contest as well.
it would be great to have a compilation of people in the community doing short videos on why google would fit in with the people of greensboro like what jeff and roch did with the library director.
Having someone walk around the coliseum is sad to see.
To address your first paragraph one would have to assume that no Greensboro residents go to the Tournament, and that’s simply not true.
I believe videos have been done, and more are likely in the works.

Keith, you may not know this since you live in High Point, but I happen to know a boat load of Greensboro residents going to the game. Given the time span the initiative is up against, the ACC Tournament is likely to be the largest single gathering of Greensboro residents.

THe Acc tournament not a gathering of greensboro residents it is a gathering of alumni from miami,boston,college park, charlottesville, winston,durham,clemson and others who pay top dollar to be in town. Granted this year there are plenty of people who were able to get cheap tickets because tar heels lost on thursday. Nice jab on me living in high point but you know better than that mr flip flopper
