Greensboro Highlighted as Tournament Town

“But right now Greensboro is setting up as a future “tournament towns.” It boasts strong community involvement with sporting events, huge turnouts, and a willingness to expand as the conference grows.

“We talk about a ‘tournament town,’ well, we use that word liberally and throw it around and talk about ‘Southern hospitality’ or whatever you want to call it,” Stroble pointed out. “But we like to think that we do it as well or better than anyone else … We care about it. Not that the sidewalks are rolled up and everything stops, but the city — in a general way — really cares about the event; people are talking about in restaurants and barber shops and everywhere.”"
