Click here and jump forward to item number 20 (3:40) to hear why Mike Barber told Robbie Perkins that his confidence in him is “eroding.” Actually you should watch this entire segment rather than have me try to explain it too you. Several members of the council continuously mentioned “the public,” almost as though campaigning for the 2009 election has already started.
During this segment you will see the council discussing a budget item that has already been implemented by city staff and this fact prompted two things. First a statement from Robbie Perkins clarifying that the council has absolutely no control over the budget item that is being discussed. Second, Trudy Wade followed up Robbie’s statement and appeared to be extremely frustrated over the fact that they are voting on an item that they had no control over. I’m in a hurry this morning and don’t have time to explain it any better than that. Just watch the video, you might find the conversation intriguing.
